[influxdb] Influxdb not running

I've never used the graphite input, but version 0.8 of InfluxDB is really
old, over 2 and a half years. I'd highly recommend using a more recent
version, such as 1.2.4 (I do not recommend 1.3.0 due to a number of very
significant bugs, but they should be fixed in 1.3.1).

Hello everyone,
I Have installed influxdb 0.8.8-1. I edit /opt/influxdb/shared/config.toml
[input_plugins.graphite]
enabled = true
port = 2003
database = "grafana-stats" # store graphite data in this database
the problem is it is not running on 8083 port. On running service influxdb start
it shows
Starting the process influxdb [ OK ]
influxdb process was started [ OK ]
but on check influx status
it shows influxdb Process is not running [ FAILED ]
Also no logs of influxdb
please tell what is the problem
